In Spain, the popular traditions are usually very intense, with great visual appeal and combine religious aspects with a good dose of force that, at first, might even be confused with violence.

The fire is always an important element. And speaking of fire, in Catalonia there is a tradition that is almost an ode to it. The Correfocs means something like "firerun" in Catalan and consist of groups of people, in some cases thousands, dressed as devil, dancing to the sound of drums and spewing out sparks from fireworks attached to forks. It’s very beautiful.

And a bit scary too.
